Climate and Clothing
Temperature: Cartagena is warm and humid, with temperatures ranging from 28-32°C during the day.
Clothing: Wear light and breathable clothing (linen or cotton), but bring something semi-formal for the conference. A light blazer or a guayabera can be suitable options.
Protection: Use sunscreen, sunglasses, and a cap or hat if you will be outdoors.
Security
Safe Areas: The hotel is in a safe tourist area, but avoid walking alone on less-traveled streets at night.
Transportation: Use trusted taxis (requested from the hotel) or apps like Uber instead of hailing taxis on the street.
Personal Belongings: Keep your belongings secured in crowded places and only carry what is necessary.
Hotel Beaches: Take advantage of the fact that Hotel Las Américas has direct access to the beach and exclusive areas to relax after the conference.

Candé: An elegant, plant-filled spot offering traditional regional cuisine along with regular live entertainment.
Erre de Ramón Freixa: Located on the 10th floor of Las Américas Torre del Mar, this restaurant offers a fine dining experience with Mediterranean cuisine influenced by Caribbean flavors, created by the Spanish chef Ramón Freixa, who holds two Michelin stars.
Restaurante Marea: Situated in downtown Cartagena, about 15 minutes by car from the hotel, Marea offers a culinary experience that blends local flavors with international techniques, in an elegant setting with views of the bay.
La Chula Cartagena: This restaurant, also in the city center, about 15 minutes by car, serves Mexican cuisine in a modern and vibrant atmosphere, ideal for a more casual yet equally enjoyable dinner.
